An abandoned truck near Lake Mead in Nevada. There were bullet holes all over the side and the inside looked as if it was on fire at some point. I looked around for some human bones but didn’t find any. Maybe I’ll hike back and put some plastic bones in there as a joke.

This is one of the passages at the Georgetown Steam Plant Museum in Seattle, WA. I went there for the first time this Saturday. They have an open house every second Saturday of the month, where they bring coffee and donuts and basically let you wander around the old steam plant, and even up onto the catwalks.

The guide looked as if he’d been around since the plant was in its prime. Since it was my first time there, I asked him if it was okay to just wander around by myself. He mumbled something, but never did give me a straight answer. He did call out “don’t touch anything!” as I walked away.

I was awestruck by the textures, and how the sunlight tried to creep into the dark interior. You’re not allowed to bring in a tripod, so I had to hand-hold the camera. My wide lens came in extremely handy.

The plant is definitely worth a return visit.
